Term 2

Dear parents and carers,

As you are aware, the situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during the early commencement of the Term 1 holidays.

The Victorian Government has now advised that all schools will move to remote and flexible learning when students return for Term 2 on Wednesday 15 April.

This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive by the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. This is to reduce movement within the community and contact between individuals as a means of reducing the potential spread of COVID-19.

All students will be learning from home, except for children on days when they are not able to be supervised at home and absolutely no other arrangements can be made.

We ask that parents provide information requesting on-site attendance via the on-site attendance application form posted on Seesaw and on our school website regarding next week by the end of the day, Monday 13 April.

Please email the completed application form and evidence to the school email: cranbourne.carlisle.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au and also send your class teacher a message on Seesaw informing them that you have applied for on-site learning.

This will enable us to ensure that we have sufficient staff on duty to supervise students in attendance for the first week back.

The application form and supporting evidence for required days/times needs to be submitted weekly for each following week. The form with supporting evidence will need to be completed and emailed to the school email address by parents/carers each week BY 3PM THURSDAY. The school will confirm arrangements with parents/carers BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS FRIDAY.

At this stage, there is no guarantee that OSHC will be able to be run. Once we have received confirmation on this, I will advise parents via Seesaw and the school website.

Please note that the learning program accessed onsite will be the same as the learning program delivered to students undertaking remote learning. Students learning onsite will be supervised by an Educational Support Employee or a teacher, but will be following the online learning program that will be delivered to all students. All students and staff who attend on-site will be expected to adhere to the health measures currently in place. Anyone who is unwell, medically vulnerable or living with a medically vulnerable person is not able to be on-site.

This is clearly going to be a challenging time for all of us. It’s going to be critically important that we work very closely together to ensure that we provide the very best possible support for the ongoing wellbeing of students and staff and the learning of our students and your children.
