Updated Advice: Coronavirus                                                                23.3.2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Again, thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we all manage this changing situation each day here at school. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is without precedent in living memory, and the Department of Education will continue to direct schools over the school holidays in how to best manage the situation as it changes daily.

As you know, the Victorian Government announced additional steps to combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), including bringing forward the school holidays in Victoria to commence from Tuesday 24 March.

At this point in time the school holidays will begin tomorrow.

Holiday dates: Tuesday 24 March to Tuesday 14 April inclusive

Learning at home

At this stage the Victorian Government is still planning for schools to re-open as scheduled at the beginning of Term Two. Our scheduled return date is Wednesday 15 April for all students.

We are monitoring the situation closely and we are aware that early next term schools may be mandated to close and students required to start flexible and remote learning. Our staff have put extensive plans in place to begin flexible and remote learning for Term 2 if schools are closed after April 15.

Further detailed information will be given as soon as it is available.

Teachers have been busy making resources available as learning packs or on Seesaw and our school website, but we ask that families and students do not access these resources unless schools are closed after April 15.

These learning resources are intended to be accessed by students if the school is not re-opened after the end of the holidays.  The last day of the holidays is Tuesday 14 April

Students and families are asked to not access home learning resources over the normal holiday break dates which are from Tuesday 24 March to Tuesday 14 April.

The most important thing right now is the wellbeing of everyone, allow your children and family time to just enjoy the holidays. Love your kids, be their safe place. Read, create, play, sing, and talk together.

Reports to the school

Any confirmed cases of COVID-19 will be reported to the school by DHHS and then relevant information will be passed on to the community.

Please report any student confirmed cases of COVID-19 or students who have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 to the school via the school phone line or through Seesaw.

Thank you for your support as we work to keep our students and school community safe.

Please find below a great resource that was shared by Wendy, a psychologist who works at our school, to assist you in how to talk with your children to help them to better understand the current changing situation.

I have also added a great generic message below. It sums up the outstanding efforts that our teachers and staff have made to ensure we are all looking after our students.

Kind Regards,

Nicky Walker
