Music at Cranbourne Carlisle PS utilises a fully inclusive approach with the aim to have all children engaged with music with opportunities to sing, play musical instruments and perform regularly. Children can learn music they choose, and identify with, whilst doing it in a fun environment alongside friends. Children showing greater enthusiasm for music can also partake in music clubs. From learning basic beat and rhythms to full rock band songs, children experience and learn skills on a multitude of instruments including: Acoustic Guitars & Drums, Boomwhackers, Drum kits, Electric Guitars, Electric Bass, Keyboards, and Orchestral Percussion instruments. Children are given opportunity to perform their music compositions to their peers, within small groups, in whole class settings, and assemblies.
In 2024 a selection of year 5/6 students were invited to take part in a Soul Sonics music program designed to create tunes and music using the sounds around our school. It was wonderful to see students using technology and digital programming to create their own individual sounds. Have a listen to their creations.
